Learning Support in the School

Learning and Curriculum Support in the Junior School is carefully managed by the SENCO. Pupils experiencing subject-specific difficulties in English (e.g. comprehension work) or Mathematics (e.g. fractions, time) are invited to a small number of curriculum support sessions aimed at consolidating their understanding. These sessions are usually led by the Form Teacher or another member of the Year group team.

Pupils diagnosed as having mild specific learning difficulties attend regular sessions with the SENCO, either on an individual or small group basis. Pupils receive an Individual Education Plan (IEP), with specific targets to be worked on at school and at home. Parents receive a copy of the IEP, which is reviewed bi-annually.
