Welcome to the Junior School at the City of London Freemen’s School.

Here at Freemen's we are fortunate, and relatively unusual, in being able to combine reasonable size year groups (around 60 in each year) with being part of a larger School where we all occupy the same site and share the same outstanding facilities. And there is one very practical benefit for parents and pupils – when it comes to moving up to the Senior School there are no examinations and no Common Entrance! By the time our pupils have moved through the Junior School we know them so well that there is no need for further examinations. The pupils themselves also know very well what will be expected of them and so we have the confidence that our pupils will go on to enhance the excellent record of academic success enjoyed by the Senior School.

For us co-education doesn’t just mean that the 350 pupils in the Junior School are divided almost 50:50 between boys and girls. We are passionate about co-education at Freemen's and encourage all our pupils, whatever their skills and interests, to participate fully in school life. Boys and girls co-exist and flourish as they have done since the School’s foundation, enthused by a highly-skilled and impassioned group of staff, enhanced by the quality of the pastoral care and learning support provided to each individual, and extended by the wide-ranging extra-curricular activities we offer. All of these factors contribute significantly to the all round excellent standards achieved by so many of our pupils.
