House Music Gala Concert

Tuesday 6th March, 7.30pm

A2 Devised Drama Performance - Exit Wounds

Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th March, 7.30pm, Ferndale Theatre

This original piece explores the issue of female suicide bombers. The issue of women, who are traditionally perceived as nurturers and protectors of children, being prepared to blow up innocent people was something which interested the three female students in the group. They asked the question: ‘What drives a woman to commit such an atrocity?’

The piece uses real testimony from people embroiled in the war in Iraq and poetry commissioned by the poet laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, on the subject of war.

The students looked at events which have affected innocent inhabitants in Iraq and how they view the military actions of the West. Using the tragic events in London on 7th July 2005, the students have devised a piece which aims to explore what may have motivated the terrorists.

Tickets are free and you can turn up on the evening. For more information, please email admissions@clfs.surrey.sch.uk
