Registering

The first stage of the admissions process is Registration. Only those registered have the opportunity to take the screening and entrance tests necessary to be offered a place. You can register your son/daughter by completing the Registration Form and submitting it along with the registration fee of £100. Please note the registration fee is non-refundable. This registration fee covers all the normal costs of the admissions process including entrance tests. Download the Registration Form

If you are interested in 7+-14+ entry in September 2012, entrance examinations will take place later in the year. Please contact the Admissions Office for more details.

 

Junior School (7+ to 12+) Entry

If you are registering your child for entry in September 2013 or earlier you will receive an acknowledgement of your registration and during the Autumn term we will send you details of the entrance examinations. This will also include the number of vacancies per year group. In the event that the year group you require is full, applicants can sit the examinations to obtain a place on the Waiting List.

Candidates registering for 2014 entry or later will receive an acknowledgement of their registration and details about entrance examinations at the appropriate time.

Year 9 (13+) Entry

If you are registering your child for entry in September 2013 you will receive an acknowledgement of your registration and during the Autumn term we will send you details of the entrance examinations. This will also include the number of vacancies in the year group. As the majority of places are offered through the pre-tests that happen in Years 6 and 7, it is possible that at the time of applying the year group may be full. In the event that the year group is full, applicants can sit the examinations to obtain a place on the Waiting List.

If you are looking for Year 9 entry in September 2014 (your child is currently in Year 6) you should register your child now as they will have the opportunity to sit our second round of pre-tests in January 2013 (the first round of tests were taken in January 2012 where a number of places were offered). You will receive an acknowledgement of your registration and and during the Autumn term we will send you details of the entrance examinations.

If you are looking for Year 9 entry in September 2015 (your child is currently in Year 5) you should register your child before November as they will have the opportunity to sit our first round of pre-tests in January 2013. You will receive an acknowledgement of the registration and during the Autumn term we will send you details of the entrance examinations.

Year 10 (14+) Entry

If you are registering you child for entry in September 2013 you will receive an acknowledgement of your registration and during the Autumn term we will send you details of the entrance examinations. This will also include the number of vacancies for this year group. In the event that the year group is full, applicants can sit the examinations to obtain a place on the Waiting List.

Sixth Form Entry - UK Students

If you are registering your child for entry in September 2012 please do so as soon as possible. You will receive an acknowledgement of your registration and in the Autumn Term a questionnaire for your child to complete and return.

There are no entrance tests for applicants who are taking eight or more GCSEs or IGCSEs. We will request a report from the applicant’s current school including expected examination performance (eg predicted GCSE grades). All applicants whose current school report and questionnaire merits it will be interviewed here at the City of London Freemen ’s School. Successful applicants will be offered a conditional place which will be subject to external examination performance (eg GCSE). 

If you are registering your child for September 2013 or later you will receive an acknowledgment of your registration and we will contact you again in the September preceding entry.

Sixth Form Entry - Overseas Students

Overseas applicants will be required to sit our entrance examinations in English, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning here at the City of London Freemen’s School. They will also be required to sit tests in certain other subjects depending on their choice of AS Level subjects. As part of the application process we will also request a report from the applicant’s current school and they will be interviewed.
